Group Update + The New DeviantArt

Hello all! Sorry for the silence recently. I have been busy with work and having a baby...


The new version of DA is presenting some problems. A lot of notifications are showing up as "failed to display" or "cannot be shown right now" so I may be missing submissions. Please bear with us while DA sort everything out.


Looking forward to 2020 where we will have new albums from Nightwish, Epica, Delain and many more!

Please make sure you submit to the right folder! Many people are just submitting to the After Forever folder rather than choosing the right category. This just makes a lot of work for the admins.


Also, please note that bands such as Amaranthe, Evanescence, Lacuna Coil should go in the Similar Bands folder. You can find a list of similar bands under Group Info.

A Decade of DeviantArt

I have been a member of DeviantArt for over a decade! Crazy stuff. This may well be my oldest account anywhere on the internet.

Since I made this account I have gone from looking like this to like this.

I have - amongst other things - 
  • Finished school
  • Gone to university and got a degree in Creative Writing
  • Got an MA in Writing For Young People
  • Been ill a lot
  • Had major surgery
  • Met my partner
  • Bought a house
  • Got engaged
  • Gained a niece and a nephew
  • Made new friends, lost old ones
  • Met my favourite band and my favourite authors
  • Photographed a bunch of things around the world
  • Finished writing a book
  • Had amazing things happen with said book (ssh, I'll tell you more about that soon...)
I don't know if anyone is still around on this site, but I just wanted to say... thanks so much for following me. I'm sure there's a lot more to come.

With many thanks to The Islanders fan club for running the competiton!









I didn't get to meet Emppu (because he was asleep) or Troy (who had wandered off outside for some reason). But it was so amazing to meet the rest of them. The best night of my life. <3

Also, this week I got a job - working for a mortgage company. Very exciting for me, it's my first proper job. :)
Hope you guys are well. More Nightwish and nature photos to come.

In Which Crystal Buys A House

Hello dear watchers!

I have been busy with many things recently... mostly my Masters degree in Writing For Young People, but also buying a house with my boyfriend. It's a beautiful old cottage in a little village. And of course there's a wonderful view!

So that's why there haven't been many photos from me lately! I have a few to post today, but I'm sure there will be more from my new house and garden. I'm also going to Zakynthos in June so you'll get some more Greek style photos. :-) I have no upcoming concerts though (come on bands, announce a UK tour already!) so there won't be any gig photographs for a while. I will be going to Sonisphere though - mainly because I'll get to see Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil and Evanescence in one weekend. Yay!

Anyway, hope you're all doing good and stuff :D

Hey everyone,

just want to apologise because I haven't thanked a lot of people for giving me faves/watches. I had quite a large pile of them, and I don't really have time to go through them all., since I'm busy doing my Masters amongst other things!

I really appreciate all favourites and comments etc, so thank you everyone :)

Today I'll put up a few shots from the concert on Sunday - I went to Out of the Dark fest, featuring Amberian Dawn, Serenity, Xandria, Van Canto and Tristania.
